I was graciously invited to be a guest designer for the CAS Watercolor Challenge and the challenge for November is Christmas greenery and flowers. Thanks to Loll, Susan (susanbri), and their crew for extending their warm welcome!
Candles and greens: embossed in white on white wc cs, watercolored with mostly DI inks smeared on acrylic block, a bit of depth added with Zig watercolor brushes, fussy cut when dry
Front panel: sentiment: stamped in black, peek-a-boo window die cut
BG: using negative of peek-a-boo window: smooshed and spritzed with water, using old clear stamp sleeve instead of acetate, pressed onto cs circle in several places, splattered with colors from candles and greens, let dry, then adhered to card front
Assembly: I popped up the front panel with dimensional tape, adhered the fussy cut candles and greenery (also with dimensionals), added sequins for that extra sparkle - love how it turned out!

Maura ... this is truly a STUNNING Christmas card. LOVE how this image of candles and Christmas greenery and berries looks embossed with white and watercoloured in soft shades of red and green. Beautiful design ... as all of your cards are! I love the background of yellow with the scalloped circle aperture. It looks like a halo of bright light behind your candles. Thanks so much for being our Guest Designer at CAS Watercolour! xx

Your watercoloring is beautiful, Maura! I love the colors you've chosen and the white embossing adds extra texture and contrast! The scalloped peek-a-boo window with the soft smooshing is the perfect backdrop for your candle arrangement! Congratulations on your win and thanks so much for joining our CAS Watercolour team this month!

Maura, beautiful card and your watercolouring is amazing. I love the 3D effect of your layering of the foliage over the candle and your watercolor wash background is perfect
