Mary is our hostess in the Color Challenge this week, and she has given us three beautiful autumn colors to work with: Crushed Curry, Tranquil Tide and Cajun Craze. The dessert option this week is a Thanksgiving or Fall card.
I decided to use some Distress Oxide inks to make the background for the leaves on my card. I didn't achieve the depth of color I was hoping for, but I did get in the right hues, I think. I ran the Cajun layer through a 3-D embossing folder, "Leaves," and layered on the other two challenge colors, tied some twine and used a scrap of the oxide layer as the background for the greeting. I stamped the leaves, fussy cut them, and tucked them behind the greeting square and added a few sequins and a few Nuvo drops.
Thanks for stopping by, and please play along with us this week!

Your leaves are beautiful Barbara, the DO inks can do amazing things! The twine wrapped embossed Cajun background is perfect with the little bit of sparkle from the sequins. Gorgeous!

Beautifully designed card, Barbara. The little square sentiment with the 3 leaves, and the scattering of bling on the bg looks fantastic. The twine is the perfect finishing touch.

This card really says Fall to me, figuratively and literally : ) I love your arrangement of leaves with that little sentiment on the DOX background. Perfect choice of embossing folder for the Cajun Cr layer and the twine ties everything together so nicely.
