For Lydia's Debossed Focus MIXed media challenge. It may not be the actual focus, but the debossing to create the background was the starting point of this card - after that it went in a different direction to what I had planned.
I started by taking the Spellbinders lattice die and using it to emboss a piece of white card. I then stamped Greenery on it with DOX Peeled Paint and embossed it with clear EP, so the debossed lines create a background lattice. Then I sponged with wild honey and vintage photo, spritzed with a homemade mister, added some chunky ep and finally added a gold embossed border. Stamped the bough from Peaceful Wishes all round in about 4 different greens to create a frame, and the little berry branch in brown.
Die-cut my letters from a green gel print and they looked like nothing, so I found some of the left-over kitchen towel from my spray box and cut them again from that. Edged them with gold Stickles and stuck them down. Sat and looked and wondered and finished another card and looked and wondered again. Added gold Stickles round the edge, and some photo corners cut from a tomato paste tube, embossed and rubbed with patina wax. Now that I'd added Stickles to the edge I could add more on the background, so I added some in turquoise and paprika.
My little owl was stamped on light watercolour paper and coloured with re-inkers, then fussy-cut and popped onto the O. Renaissance because the rich colours and gold remind me of Renaissance paintings.
Plan A had been a debossed trellis background with a flower and vine trailing over it - goodness knows how I ended up with this.

I love this great mixed media card and with my first attempt I did the same I went more mixed media than debossed focus, I love all the texture you've got on your card and the cute owl your letters are so artsy too, I understand the Renaissance!!

This is one of those cards that I call throwing everything you have at it and see what sticks. And those are fun to do! And fun to look at it! Sometimes the cards that are the least like waht we had in mind are the best. This is wicked fun!

This card is fabulous, Sabrina! Love the Renaissance owl as he is just too cute sitting on the O. I have to admit that I started in one direction and then changed course as well! I did save my original card, however.

Your debossed bg is gorgeous, the gold touches are a great touch. And that owl on the letters, adorable. This is one of those cards that want to be created and direct you ;)
