I missed out on the DTGD challenges that involved a gel plate, so I went out and bought one. So glad I did, because I had fun making this card! So much fun, that I forgot to make it mixed media! Is that sirens I hear? Oops.
I followed Lydia’s video tutorial and sprea Distress paint on my gel plate. Then I placed a bubble background stencil onto the paint and made my “garbage print”. LOL. I didn’t have my embossed cardstock ready to go, so my paint started separating and losing it’s nice stencil pattern while I ran my koi EF through the Cuttlebug. I still love the way it came out and I love the two other prints that I can use for cards later on. Thanks for the great tutorial and fun challenge, Lydia!

I love the way this turned out My attempt ending up being the background for something else. I didn't have the right types of paints or inks to use for this

I love the gel plate. I just got one recently and have only done one card and totally loved how it came out. I need to play with it more when I have time. It makes great BGs from all the terrific cards I have seen. This is so amazing!

What a remarkable image you achieved using a gel plate, Jen! I don't have a gel plate; however, your card is certainly inspiring me to get one. I love the card, Jen!
