I worked out a way to combine a shutter gate fold and magic slider card. The only really tricky part was figuring out how to cut the front of the card to evenly frame the window on the inner panel. I cut a base that was 10 x 5.5 (longer than in the tutorial) so I could make interlocking tabs on the top and bottom to hold the card closed. The shutters are rectangular, 2 inches wide x 3.5 inches tall. I added 1/2 inch flaps to the top and bottom of the inner panel (they're mountain-folded out of view), which creates enough space between the panel and the card base so that foam tape isn't necessary. The colored image is adhered to the card base behind the shutters and the acetate with the line drawing is adhered to the inner panel in front of the shutters. When the card is opened, the shutters part, revealing the colored image. I adhered the colored image to the base and blank acetate to the inner panel and then made my line drawing on the acetate with a sharpie. If I were trying to get good registration of a stamped image, I think I would adhere the top of the inner panel as well as the colored image to the base, position the acetate with the uncolored image over the colored image and secure on the *sides* at the very edges with removable tape. It would be important not to put the removable tape too close to the window because the next step would be to put double sided tape around the window of the inner panel and flatten it against the acetate. It'd be a little tricky pulling the removable tape out from under the inner panel, but as long as the removable tape were on the sides far from the window and care taken not to get the double stick tape on the removable tape, I think it'd be doable.
