The Ways to Use It Challenge for this week, WT707- Kraft Card Stock - 9/27/18, was to use kraft cardstock somewhere in your card. I have a love/hate relationship with kraft cs - I love it when kraft Tan melds with my card design, which in this case it did.
My inspiration for this card started with 2 discarded pieces from my possibles box. The wood veneer business card with the geese was discarded because the Versafine Ink bled when I stamped it (I forgot to spray first with Krylon matte spray to seal the surface.) The sponged color also went on in blotches because the wood was not sealed. Ugh! Note to self: ALWAYS spray fixative on real wood pieces before using!
The cattails die is new and this piece was a sample cut that I made when the die arrived. I decided to keep the background simple and unobtrusive, so I used Versamark watermark ink to stamp the grassy sand dunes and highlighted the edges on the cattails. When it came time to do the sentiment, the only color that didn't stick out like a sore thumb was more kraft cs and Versamark ink. I hand cut around the sentiment to make it less bulky and finished the edges with a touch of Versamark.
Thanks for flying by and looking at my Geese in Flight!

Thanks for the tip on using fixative, I'd never thought of that. The contrast of the warm neutral colours on the textured and tone-on-tone kraft is really super. I could look at this for a long time, it has such a peaceful, serene vibe.
