I am a bibliophile. I have four books going right now, it takes me a while, but I get them done. My favorite books are LOTR, anything Jane Austen, Harry Potter, children's books. My card is all about The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings (books being the theme for Teapotters). I don't have any square dies and I wanted as much of the book page to show; I came across this recycled cardboard, probably packaging from something at Target, I cut it down to a square and used the rectangle for the window. I have the names of all of the Fellowship (Gollum wasn't part of the Fellowship but his name is just to the right of the square) around the edge and I definitely needed to represent Tolkien's love of trees and nature and his despair that that was all going away. Gold charm to represent the ring of power. And my props are from my collection of all things Tolkien: Lego set Gandalf and my pottery statue of Bilbo, the one who stole the ring from Gollum, smoking his pipeweed. I wonder what that pipeweed really was. I even had a hamster named Goldberry. Tolkien's works are truly awesome and still very timely. And I prefer fantasy, since real life is tooooo scary. I love the sketch by the way.

Brilliant! I should leave it at that...but well, I can't. I mean you even used a page from LOTR! Love the pink tree trunk, the names of the characters...(where's Gollum)? The Lego Gandalf, the books...a most worthy card for this weeks Teapotter challenge. Some fella SCS'er TP'er is going to treasure this.
Love the staging as well. Awesome......

Great use of the sketch. I could never get into the Silmarillion but I've enjoyed all Tolkien's other books (including the Letters from Father Christmas). What a great choice for the challenge and a super quote. Your little Gandalf figurine is sweet (is that the right word for him, probably not). I didn't know that there was Lego LOTR. I had already read The Hobbit, but I remember devouring LOTR on a school trip to the UK when I was about 13, my grandmother had given me the books for Christmas.

Great card! I also love LOTR books, love how you did your layout. I read LOTR when I was in high school, read it very quickly after my English teacher had made us read The Hobbit. Loved the story then, and still do!
