WooHoo it's tickle a Teapotter time of the week and Snietje aka Anita has given us a fabulous "bookcard" challenge. I made my card based on the teapot photo, but I'm sure looking forward to trying Snietje's tutorial.
Here we have Milly and Molly catching up on some quiet time and enjoying their books. Milly and Molly started out life as Sassy Cheryl digi images printed onto copy paper, coloured with Prismacolour pencils and a few Copic highlights. The entire card has had a light swish of walnut stain distress ink sponged on.
Molly got a gig on this card because I messed up colouring the dog that is jumping up on the couch. I added a lace rug (scrap of a doily) to cover the dogs tail and to balance that, I added a bit of the doily over the top of the couch.
When I stuck the images onto the card, I didn't glue down the lamp shade, top of the couch or most of Molly. As this card is going to a fellow Teapotter, she will be able to foof these bits out a little to give it a 3D feel.
The family portraits are little Unity stamps. The faux frames were done with a Copic Marker. Somewhere in my house there are 42,000 brads....today, all I could find were 3 purple brads with white spots...thank goodness Copic markers can be used to change the colour of almost anything. Now I am wondering why I bought brads in every colour known to woman, when all I really needed was white brads and my markers!!
Anita asked what we like to read. I would like to say something impressive like War and Piece, but truth be told I just finished Kathy Lette's "How to Kill Your Husband and other handy household hints".
Thank you so much for looking.

One, two in the Gallery - how is that! Love the little pictures hanging on the dado rail. Think that lino floor covering would loose its appeal or play havoc with the eyesight and would need an urgent renovation - he he. Love your write up too.

Oh, look at the little patchwork quilt and lace "shawl" on the back of the cosy armchair. We had a couple of green ones that were so comfy for curling up and reading. Can I take out a subscription to Mixed Media Monthly? Your floor and wall are amazing.

Oh my Susie this is so pretty, I can imagine their conversation about their books, I love the little parts of "knitting" on the sofa , the wall pictures are fitting perfect in your design and I love the floor, but there's something I don't like at all...your book about how to kill your husband hahahaha

Lucky girl that gets this one! What a fun and cozy scene you made up, Susie. The dog fiasco was a stroke of luck as I love this grouping more. Fun details, fun scene, fun books (even the one you just finished). Love it! Hugz

I hope you didn't let your hubby see you reading that book! This is totally AMAZING! The little girls are so sweet reading their books ..every detail is delightful...I love how you covered up that boo boo with the doily scrap! My favorite part has to be the children's portraits on the wall....precious!

What's NOT to love? Though all the fantastic images, coloring, design and details are pure Susie, I love that you gave the scene baseboards and picture moldings. Is it because I am married to an architect? He's a real keeper but I love humorous books, too.
