The card base is a standard A2 size (8.5"x4.25" folded in half) made from Stampin' Up! (SU) Basic Black cardstock.
I began by using my VERY retired 1998 SU "Ornate Ornaments" stamp that was inked with Versamark and stamped onto a scrap piece of black cardstock. I then covered the stamped image with gold embossing powder and heat set it to a glossy finish. I then hand cut the ornament out using paper snips. To give the ornament a 3D look, I placed a large oval piece of adhesive foam strip behind the center of the ornament, then SU Tear & Tape super strong tape around the back edges of the ornament so it would make the ornament raised in the middle, but stick tight all around the perimeter.
I glued this to an oval that was die cut using SU "Layering Ovals Framelits Dies" from SU Real Red cardstock. I then die cut a scalloped oval from SU Basic Black cardstock using the same die set that was just slightly bigger than the red oval.
The required rectangular element in the sketch was cut from a really pretty pattern paper that repeated the gold and black of the ornament. The paper was from a 6" paper pad called "Fancy That" by My Mind's Eye. This was glued to the SU Real Red front panel, then the ornament element was attached just slightly off the right edge using adhesive foam strips (be careful to leave the right edge of the ornament piece free of any foam strip so you can trim it).
The gold ribbon is an organdy ribbon from JoAnne's. I simply wrapped a 6" piece of the ribbon around the red panel, and taped to the back. Then using a piece of gold thread from my sewing stash, I tied this piece of ribbon to "cinch" it where I wanted to attach the bow. I used extra long gold thread so that I could trim the ends and leave them behind the bow for added "bling". I used my Bow-Easy bowmaker tool to tie the bow, then attached the bow to the cinched ribbon using a Mini Glue Dot.
The final step was to glue the red panel to the black card base using Tombow glue.
This card was pretty straightforward to make, so I am rating its difficulty level as a "2" out of a possible "5". If you wanted to add a holiday greeting, there is plenty of room at the bottom to stamp it.
