Two fun challenges to combine today. Our tea party is for chinook's mother who recently moved into a nursing home. We have been challenged to repeat some stamping and use tea images, hummingbirds, and/or poppies. I went for all of the above. And the hummingbirds were perfect for Jeanne's color challenge because dessert is goodbye to summer and I am saying goodbye to my hummingbirds now.
I started off by repeatedly stamping the Verve poppy all over to make some poppy DP. I would never think to make yellow poppies if not for the color challenge! Then I stamped he strip of hummgbirds and stamped and cut the teacup. I decided to assemble the card with a white tablecloth and the hummingbird strip as a decorative edge. Popped up the teacup on foam squares and finished with a faux stitched sentiment banner. I hope this makes Mary smile. Thanks for the fun challenges, ladies!

Oh, now that is smart thinking to use that poppy stamp to create a background - I've never used it like that. Great detail in matching the stitched cup with the stitching lines round the sentiment. And what a sweet little hummingbird stamp for the border - kind of gives an art deco feel which works well with the poppy background.

Jennifer you knocked this out of the park combining the tea party and the color challenge and all the cookies to you for the repeat stamping with all the above. Nicely done with this beauty. Mary is going to adore getting this beauty in the mail.

Oh my, Jen, this is fabulous! I agree with Sabrina that I wouldn't have thought to use the Verve poppies as a background. But it is fabulous, and I love the way you've used the colors and had dessert. Mary is going to love this card -- you are so clever, my friend! Hugs and love! xoxo

Wow Jen, I am so impressed with this fabulous card you made. The more I read how you made this card, the more impressed I became. I am in awe of how you managed to get everything tucked into this one card for Mary, and make it look cohesive and fabulous. I love everything about this wonderful card you made. ~Karen.
