This is my 2nd week as a guest designer for the color challenges and this is the card I made. Jeanne is our hostess and she chose the fabulous colors of Granny Apple Green, Coastal Cabana, Flirty Flamingo and Daffodil Delight and dessert is Summer's Last Hurrah. For me, when the the water lilies are blooming and there are hundreds of dragonflies flitting in and around the water lilies, this is summer's last hurrah. I love it when the water lilies are blooming so I dug out this wonderful old PSX stamp and showed it some love. The only ink color I own is daffodil delight so I used copic and spectrum noir alcohol markers to color this image in. Clear wink of stella is used around the large lily pad, but you cannot see it in this photo, but it is really shimmery and makes the water look like it is moving. The dragon fly was made with color burst powders and water, then set aside to dry. I sprayed this piece with Elmer's spray glue and then poured crystal glitter over the spray glue, then set aside to dry. Once dry, the dragonfly was cut from this piece. It is really sparkly in real life and covers up an ink blob I got on my card when I was all done with it. How does that happen? Well, it turned into an opportunity to embellish so that is a good thing. Thank you for looking today, and I hope you can play in the color challenge this week. ~Karen.

Oh how pretty, Karen! I love water lilies, but I don't see them very often and even less with blooming flowers surrounding them. What a treat when I do, and for now I will just enjoy looking at this wonderful image! I like the way you made your water look like it has motion and pretty sparkly dragonfly~

Karen, I love your description of the inspiration for this image. I especially like the glittery dragonfly. Don't you love it when mistakes give us the opportunity for new techniques?!?! Great coloring, too!

Karen, this card is just stunning! Your coloring is wonderful! Your story of why the dragonfly is on the card makes me think of a T-shirt with Bob Ross on it that says "No mistakes, just happy accidents!"

Wow Karen, your water lilies just pop out of the gallery, they are so beautifully colored! The water and clouds in the background look fabulous as does your sparkly dragonfly with the strategic placement over an ink blob (yeah, I shake my head when they mysteriously appear on my cards too LOL!). Love it!

Karen, your water Lilly card is stunning mf!! What a gorgeous image, along with your fabulous coloring this is sensational! I love the way you colored in the water swirls adding the appearance of more movement to the floating Lilly pads.
Your sparkly dragonfly is a lovely element in your design and appreciate your description of how to make it.
Awesome card Karen!!
