For both of Friday's challenges:
Free 4 all - Use Big Words - I used a big birthday sentiment from PTI.
Mix 293 - Sweet Inspiration - be inspired by the art work of Wayne Thiebaud
I was inspired by this colorful bird on the Pinterest site Polly provided for us.
I tried to color my water color paper die cut bird the way his was colored, by smooshing my bird into Distress Inks on my craft mat spritzed with water.
I also stenciled on a panel of watercolor card, stamped my large sentiment, and added red enamel dots.
I embossed both the bird and the edges of the panel with Vintage Beeswax Baked Texture Embossing powder - which gives a nice mottled texture as well as a shine!
Accessories: Mini Stencil - Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous, Bird Die - Eileen Hull/Sizzix, Vintage Beeswax Baked Texture Embossing Powder - Emerald Creek, black rhinestone, red enamel dots.,
Techniques: Watercolor smooshing, stenciling, die cuts, embossing

Very pretty! I hadn't seen this bird ...you really captured the essence of it and it looks wonderful on that stenciled bg. That beeswax ep is really cool...will need to check that out. Thanks for playing along today Julia!

GREAT mixed media card...your bird is fantastic and replicates your chosen inspiration so well...loved the technique you used. Your bg with its stenciling and textured embossing powder to form your "framing." Yes, a GREAT card!

Hello there East Coast friend! You nailed both challenges and especially your take on Wayne Thiebaud bird. So many interesting places for the eye to rest on this card. I am especially drawn to the stencils and waxed base...
Happy belated Birthday too.
