This card is for me. Although I do not have a butler, or know anyone who does, he is here to remind me to keep my party hat of life on. After 4 unexpected surgeries in the past 6 out of 8 months this year, I am now healed and the docs no longer need to see me. I am so grateful. I have told my family and friends that they have my permission to straighten my party hat, should they notice I'm being a bit snarky over something trivial. This card was a real challenge for me. I stamped the people on a white card and realized the card was too small, so I had to give it a floor. I masked them on an angle so the Scan n Cut would only cut around their legs and feet onto the printed angled floor. I was able to piece the floor around them and trimmed the sides to make the card longer. I colored and embossed the party hat and made a pompom out of twisted pipe cleaners. The Scan N Cut letters were cut on a sticky label only cutting through the top sticky layer so they were easier to adhere. Vintage trim for the carpet and an embossed clock helped fill out the scene.

You put a lot of work into this fun card! Cutting around your images with a scan n cut was not an easy task, I would think.
It was all worth the effort though when viewing the result! Your floor is very creative and draws the eye into the people and the party hat!
I need to make myself a note about cutting letters out of sticky labels, too! How clever!

Ah, a sort of art journal type card, I like these. I have one or two I've made myself as reminders...and they both turned out big too. I really like the perspective in this. And the carpet is super. The whole thing has a great period feel.
In my days as a cook I never did work in a house big enough to have a butler in my time....though I did work in one which, in its heyday, had had over 80 indoor staff. By the time I was there I was the only live-in staff: I had the whole old servants' wing to myself apart from the three daily cleaners using the servants' hall for their tea break.

It sounds like making your card was an operation of sorts with all the masking, scan and cutting, etc This is really fun and I love that it's for YOU! You should celebrate after all that you've been through this year..so glad you are on the other side of all that. Your card is super creative..I love it!

indeed, put that *am hat on and hold those shoulders back! You know I adore your quirky sense of humor and I am happy to hear you have overcome our Medical System to rise again!
I love the dimension of the floor and the butler 'walking' uphill. Hope to see you in the galleries again soon.
