I learned a new acronym this week: EOINA. I love it because so much of what I'm doing lately comes from my "old" stash. The butterfly paper in the background comes from an unopened pack I found at the bottom of a stack. It was unlabeled - I suspect it might have been DCWV but I'm not sure. I made a simple background panel with it because I thought it would work well for a friend at church who just lost her mother. After I had the panel assembled, I discovered that I had nothing to match the color of the butterflies. So I die cut the big butterfly from the plan colored mat but the end result looked too plain. So I dug to the bottom of another drawer and found some chipboard (remember chipboard?) butterflies. One of them was a fairly close shape to the die cut, so I started with white acrylic paint and added SU re-inkers by the drop until I came up with a color that was close to the butterflies on the dp. Painted the chipboard and affixed it to the panel, then glued the die cut on top. I still wasn't happy so I did the same process with the Nuvo silver drops for the bubble dots.. They got much darker but they kinda match the bottom layer. Whew!

Good use of the chipboard and the big, beautiful butterfly does match the colors in that pretty paper. It's a wonderful sympathy card for your church friend and she is sure to appreciate it.
