This is for Pam's Color Challenge - see ink colors above and Sabrina's Teapotter's Challenge - Blast from the Past - use old stamping supplies for your early days of card-making. My card club will be exchanging Paris themed cards next month and I wanted to try out a design. I thought the color challenge would make a lovely stamped collage.
After I die-cut the top panel, I remembered the Teapotters Challenge. I thought about how my early days of card-making days how I would scissor cut or tear the edges and this edge looks like a pair of decorate scissors I used to have. Back then, my cards involved mostly stamping (no die-cuts, only a little punching). I did use my stamp-a-ma-jig to position the stamps for this card, as I did back then. Nowadays I prefer to use my Misti when possible.
I used deckle-edged scissors for the 2nd layer and sponged the edges. Then I looked for three things I would use a lot back in the day - thin ribbon, heart buttons and mulberry paper. Incredibly, I found in my stash a multi-colored mulberry paper in the colors of the color challenge - yellow, brown and red. I inadvertently covered most of the brown with the ribbon, but you might be able to see a little there. I used a blender pen on the Elfie Tower to pull ink from the stamped lines to shade in the tower. Years ago, I would have used chalk, so I should have done that. New habits are hard to break. As I look at my card, it is a blast from the past for me.
Lovely autumn color combo to work with. TFL

Lovely collection of stamps, Fresh Vintage looks great with the Eiffel Tower. The mulberry paper is fab. I always liked that thin ribbon. I'm glad the Tickle benefits from you trying out an idea. I could make Paris cards all day...that will be a fun swap.

Diane, this is simply gorgeous! I have never been to Paris so just looking at your beautiful card makes me want to go there. These colors are so perfect for this card Diane. I enjoyed reading your journey on how you thought back to your older card making days and how you translated that into this wonderful card. What a terrific card for all the challenges Diane. ~Karen.
