Such a fun site for today's Inspiration Challenge! I combined a couple of objects for my card..THIS & THIS . I liked the palm trees of the first, but the colors of the second.
I'm also combining this w/ Janine's DTGD Challenge & for the details of it, you'll need to go to the Dare to Get Dirty Forum. And, I used a technique from TLC698, gel plate impressionism. Basically, you put a gel plate into your Misti, ink it up w/ Distress oxide inks, mist w/ alcohol (the rubbing kind, lol), stamp your image on top w/ dye ink, then place your card stock on top of the gel plate. So that's what I did. The colors move around & mix a bit & the silhouette isn't quite as sharp as it would be, but the overall look is pretty nice. After it dried, I added the seagulls & a little white highlighting on the palms.
Thanks so much for looking. It's on my blog w/ closeups & the inside: The Write Stuff

Fabulous, Julie. I love the colors you went with and the scene is just outstanding. I want to try that technique you used when I have time....so many I saw on DTGD I want to give a whirl.
