This is my card for Nancy's DTGD18 challenge. The other day I was playing with some stencils and made a couple backgrounds, but they were really, really bold and bright - not exactly what I was looking for, so I set them aside. But I needed a background for this card, so I took some white acrylic paint and brushed it over the background to mute the color. I let it dry and gave it a 2nd coat. The ink color is blueprint sketch distress and is a very bold blue leaning a bit toward purple. The paint completely changed it to a soft usable background.
The flower is actually sponged with orange and then over that with pink passion, so a bit different than any color of ink that I own.

Fab bg, Melody. It really sets off your beautiful red flower! Really pretty card, and I am so glad you played in the challenge. Hope you got my message about the keyword faux pas I made. Hugz
