I can hardly believe it's August 1 already, and that means it's time for the August Fan Club/Dirty Dozen Christmas Challenge. I had an inkling of an idea of what I was going to do, but the Color Challenge this week helped me with my card. I knew I wanted to use this sweet holly sprig and needed an idea for the color of the ribbon. Lemon Lime Twist did it! I've had this stamp and die set for a while and have been using some of the many neglected un-inked stamps. I tried to "channel" my sweet and amazing friend Debbie (swldebbie) and did a CAS card. For me the best part of making a card is coloring, and I have colored several of these holly sprigs for more of these cards.
I colored the holly sprig and die cut it (the die matches perfectly and is so easy to line up). I used a stitched square die, used my Mini Perfect Layers to mat it, then used the Mini MISTI to add the sentiment once I decided where to place the holly. I scoured through ALL my embossing folders (definitely need some organization there - haha!) and found this worked best. I matted the embossed layer and then placed it on a white card base. The focal image is popped with thin foam squares. Easy and simple to mail (just what I love).
Thanks, Stacy, for another great challenge for the Fan Club/Dirty Dozen Christmas Challenge. And thanks, Jeanne, for a great choice of colors this week. I most certainly had dessert with my Christmas card and still need a big pile of those yet. ;)
A big thanks for taking a closer look at my card! Wishing you all a wonderful rest of the week and a happy August! It's going to be super busy with Dare To Get Dirt. Make sure you get everything ready! Remember that it's for our wonderful Fan Club members. If you aren't a Fan Club member, why not? So much fun and lots of prizes! Hope you can join in! Hugs, all! xoxo

Cheryl, I am always impressed with your wonderful coloring, and this card is definitely no exception! I am really impressed with the detail you are able to achieve using both prismas and copics. I LOVE leaves and the colors you used are totally STUNNING!!! I also love how you've really allowed the beauty of this single leaf and holly berries to shine by using white on white embossing and the sliver of red frames to accentuate the holly berries. This is WONDERFUL!!! Into my favorites this goes!
I want to thank you for being such a great encouragement to me on my cards, and for being an encourager in general when you leave comments. This is truly one of your gifts from God, of that there is no doubt! You are SO talented, yet you are always looking to emphasize the best in what you see in others' cards, and I admire this in you so much, Cheryl! Thank you for being such a great instrument of God's love!!!
