For the "Pool Party" challenge, I couldn't think of anything better for sitting by the pool than a nice tall glass of orange-y punch! I used Operation Write Home's Sketch #10 as the basis for my design, though I did have to enlarge the tags & panel behind said tags to accommodate my images.
I cut my tags from bristol paper. On the backs, I marked the center towards the top, punched a hole with my Crop-a-Dile II, and used the same tool to set a pewter eyelet in each tag.
I used my MISTI to stamp the glasses (from the "Lemonade" set) in Summer Sky on each tag first. The MISTI ensured that they would be in the same position on each tag. For the "punch," I first double-stamped with Tangelo, again using my MISTI. Then, without moving the stamp, I inked up just around the edges with Morocco, and daubed away towards the middle to soften the edge before stamping. This gave kind of a "rock & roll" technique look, without having to do the actual technique. Call it "Lazy Rock & Roll"! Finally, I stamped the straws with Love Letter. For those, I just used an acrylic block. The straw stamp was just a bit too long, so I didn't ink about the bottom 1/8" or so. Then I set my tags aside.
I stamped my greeting on one of the patterned papers with Versamark, heat embossed with silver powder, & then cut it into a strip. I left it long until I knew where I wanted to cut it.
I cut a panel of patterned paper to A2 size, and adhered it to a white card base. I adhered the yellow-orange paper about 3/4" from the top. After I threaded my tags with green & white baker's twine, I determined where my middle tag would go, adhered it, then adhered the other 2 on either side. I trimmed my greeting strip down, and used the 1/4" side of my Corner Chomper to round the left corners. Then I adhered that to my card. As a finishing touch, I used a light grey Tombow marker and the blender pen to add a shadow under each glass to ground them.
