For today's Mix Ability challenge - Color on Color - color an image using two mediums.
For the mermaid's tail - I stamped it on Bristol Smooth Surface paper and I colored it with purple, pink, blue and green Prismacolor Watercolor pencils and blended the colors with Gamsol using a paper nib.
For the background I used the - rubbing Distress inks Crushed Olive, Broken China and Ground Espresso onto my craft met, spritzing with water and pouncing my watercolor panel into the color - one at a time - drying between each pounce.
I also went over the mermaid tail and shell with a clear glitter Wink of Stella so they are really shimmery IRL but it never shows up on the photo!
I don't really like to color images as I'm not very good at it - so I like to learn techniques that aren't too difficult and come out well! I think this is one of those easy techniques!!
I've had the can of Gamsol, the watercolor pencils and the paper nibs for many years - I must have learned about coloring with these items years ago, tried it, and then put everything in a drawer!
I'm glad I didn't throw it all out - I always seem to come back to things!

What a artisitc card Julia! I love the bg and your brightly colored mermaid tail...I bet that Wink of Stella looks awesome. It’s good to get out some of those lesser used supplies...I’m glad you found yours. ;)
