I always love the opportunity to use these cute retired Stampin' Up! kids stamps from 1993. This week's theme seemed a perfect time to pull them out. I stamped the two kids onto a 4"x 5.25" panel of SU Whisper White cardstock using Memento Jet Black ink. This ink is great for coloring with alcohol inks like Copics Markers.
I hand colored the two children, then using a craft sponge, I sponged the grass using SU Wild Wasabi ink, and the sky with SU Pool Party. I used a scrap piece of paper to mask while sponging so I would get a straight horizon line.
The required two elements a the upper corners were the sun stamped with SU Crushed Curry ink (from SU "Sunshine & Rainbows"), which I then die cut with the smallest Spellbinders Nestabilities circle die, then used paper snips to cut between the sun's rays.
The cloud was die cut using the SU "Up & Away" dies. I lightly sponged the bottom of the could with SU Pool Party ink to give it dimension.
Both the sun and cloud were then attached to the panel using adhesive foam strips to give them an appearance of "floating".
The "Family Fun" sentiment was created with multi-color Recollections letter stickers attached to the bottom of the card front.
The final step was to glue the main panel onto the SU Bermuda Bay card base using Tombow glue.
This card was very easy to create if you have done any hand coloring in the past. I am rating it at a difficulty level of "2" out of "5".
I recalled many fun family things we did together while making this card, so thanks, Vicki and Kaylin for the sketch and theme this week!
