The three round elements right away made me think of wreaths or holiday ornaments, so I went to my retired 2009 Stampin' Up! "Delightful Decorations" ornament stamps with their matching SU Ornament Punch.
So with colorful ornaments in mind, I made the main panel a 4"x 5.25" SU Garden Green cardstock that was glued to the SU Cherry Cobbler standard A2 sized card base.
The required horizontal element was made as a pine garland using the Spellbinders Shapeabilites "Foliage" die set. I used three different shades of SU green cardstock to diecut the boughs (Old Olive, Wild Wasabi, and Pear Pizzazz). Each bough was attached to the card front using a Mini Glue Dot at it's stem base with shades of green alternating.
The ornaments were each stamped on SU Whisper White cardstock using SU Real Red, Rich Razzleberry, and Purely Pomegranate. They were punched out, then covered completely with Wink of Stella. This helped to soften the reds a bit, and also allowed me to spread the ink color in a lighter shade out onto the white border created by the punch.
Each ornament was attached to the card front using adhesive foam strips to raise them off the card surface. With the pine garland having so much depth, I felt the ornaments would look too "flat" unless I raised them up. The ornaments were "hung" from the garland with pieces of stretchy silver rope I saved from a box of chocolates I had received as a gift (waste not - want not!).
The final touch was to die cut the star using the SU "Star Framelits Dies" (the smallest die) punched from a scrap piece of gold paper. I thought the star looked too "blah", so I used a tiny star punch from Recollections and punched out this tiny center star element from a scrap of gold glitter paper I had in my stash. The two stars were attached together using Tombow Multi-Purpose Glue, then glued atop the garland.
While not difficult to make, due to all the punching, the card took a while to put together. So, I am rating its difficulty level as a "2" out of a possible "5".
Only 5-1/2 months till Christmas!!!
