In my previous experiments with my firework cards I tried a new to me technique.
She swiped ink (Catherine Pooler in her case) across glossy CS. I decided to see what would happen with DOs and try to make a sunset. I was a little surprised by the results. It was a much softer effect. The colors were toned down. After it had dried I added some embossing to it. But, then I tried buffing it with a paper towel and messed up my embossing. It was so pretty I decided to keep the BG piece in case I could make something else out it. The next day or so I decided to try die cutting some pieces. Then I thought of adding the vellum stamped images. The vellum toned down the color even more, but I still liked it. I used multi medium matte adhesive along the lines of the images to attach the vellum to the glossy pieces. My Mom and Step-dad will be celebrating their 30th, so this was perfect timing to make this card for them.
If I make this BG again, I will wait until it dries, then buff off the excess, then emboss.

Such a very beautiful card Michelle. I'm so glad you got to use that wonderful background and the vellum really does give it such a soft and delicate look. The dark card stock was a brilliant idea to show off those fabulous flowers. Thank you so much for sharing this with us at Less is More xx
