A friend got me some Printworks stamps before they closed the shop, so I used the poinsettia image. First, I decided to use one of the smaller Grand Scallop dies and carefully gilded the edges with my Krylon pen (making sure to prime the pen well). I set the base aside and did some pre-planning before I decided my final layout using my MISTI (allowing space for my sentiment at the end). I cut a mask and stamped the first poinsettia and then masked it and stamped another. The other two poinsettias are in the upper corners. (True Confession: I stamped my card the first time and started coloring one of the petals green. So back to the MISTI. Ha!) I used a rectangle die to cut down my focal image and had to trim a bit more. I finished coloring everything and then used my Mini MISTI to add the sentiment. Then I very carefully used my Krylon pen. I allowed it to dry completely before I adhered it to the scalloped base. Voila! It was done!
Thanks, Anne, for a great challenge this week. I love the website and could easily have done some serious shopping there.
And of course, Stacy (Twinshappy) has a new Fan Club/Dirty Dozen Christmas Challenge for July, and I hope you can join us! It's been great fun to make more cards throughout the year so I don't get all flustered this fall. I want to enjoy the holidays.
Thanks for taking a closer look at my card! Wishing you all a wonderful week and a happy July! Hugs, all! xoxo
Awww! Cheryl, this is a stunner!!! You did an amazing job with both challenges!!! Wowzers. Your coloring as always is exquisite. So elegant!!! Hugs! I don't know how you were able to get such perfect outlining with your pen! When I try to outline it looks like a kindergartner did it!! Beautiful!

WOW!!! What an awesome card, Cheryl! I love the skillful coloring of the poinsettias and leaves! Adding the Gold around the edge of the scalloped piece really makes it pop! I am so happy to see a card of yours in the gallery, my friend! It is a great piece of art!! Hugs, my special sis!
