Needed a sympathy card for a friend who lost her daughter unexpectedly. Decided to pull out an Altenew image I had yet to use, as well as some Altenew ink cubes I had purchased awhile back.
I was intending to make a standard A2 size card but wasn't loving the look with the full image. My PTI c/s was too flat for me, but the image did not look nice on my Bazzill textured c/s. Dies to the rescue!! Went with a square layout, die cut a portion of the image and inlaid. Die cut a black "frame" to have a finished edge between the colored c/s and the white c/s. Stamped and embossed the sentiment.
Finished off by using clear glitter pen over blooms and leaves. IRL, it sparkles nicely.

Just lovely, Debbie - your use of textured cs always adds so much interest to your cards and I love the flowers paired with the neutral and black cs. Faved.

Lovely card, Debbie. Sorry for the loss your friend experienced - that is heart wrenching to even think about. Your card is so well designed and so pretty. Love the image but you made it even prettier with your coloring and framing.

Wow, Debbie, losing a daughter is so hard (as my grandmother struggled when my aunt died at age 52 from breast cancer...she said a mother shouldn't have to bury her daughter). You are so sweet to make this beautiful card for her, and you're right about the square. I love your square cards, and they are so beautiful. I love the flower and the texture card stock. Beautifully done, as always, sweet friend! You are a sweetheart!! Hugs! xoxo

So very pretty. Love the soft linen look kraft color surrounding the beautiful flowers, really sets them off. It is so important in these times of sorrow to know others are thinking and praying for you. Cards like these are a treasure and a blessing.
