I squealed with delight at the colours chosen by Karen today - Blushing Bride, Mint Macaron and Very Vanilla! And 'vintage' if we want to add dessert to the mix. I wrapped wide ivory lace, Mint Macaron lace and Blushing Bride ribbon across the card and secured panel to the front of the card. I die cut the doily die and popped up with foam pads. To make the bow, I unpicked the pleated ribbon, and steamed the creases out. After sponging the dahlias I snipped into the petals and shaped with a ball tool. Used a tiny 'Cherry Blossom' flower for the dahlia centres adding in a large pearl. I built up the layers, starting with the Madera Corners, little leaves, birthday banner and flowers. I REALLY wanted a Blushing Bride sponged flower but no matter how I did it the result did not match the BB ribbon colour, not even near. So I'm not entirely happy with the flowers, but to quote Karen ... it is what it is!
