It's time for a new Color Challenge! Karen is hosting this week and she has chosen the soft combination of Blushing Bride, Mint Macaron and Very Vanilla, with a dessert option of vintage. No dessert for me this week!
I'm also entering this card in the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, where the theme is to Frame It
I chose the Gardenia layering stamp set to create my flower and leaves, using 2nd generation stamping for the lightest layers and then stamping subsequent layers full strength. Because Gardenias are mostly white or the lightest of pinks, I am using a bit of artistic license to have a Blushing Bride flower! ;-)
I tried making this card with a Very Vanilla card base but because all the colors are light, there wasn't enough contrast. So I chose to use a craft card base, which I think looks nice with this pink flower and frame and really helps the cover die stand out. Some jewels and sequins finish things off.
Thanks for looking and I hope you'll join us for the Color Challenge this week!

Oh, I love gardenias, Stef, and your flower is gorgeous. The very vanilla die cut frame is beautiful and I love the addition of the sequins throughout it. I love your card, Stef!

Stef, you’ve given your artistic gardenia a delicate vintage appearance with the layered coloring. The Kraft base with the lattice bg is the perfect backdrop for your flower!

Beautiful card, Stef--it could even pass for vintage in my book! Love the pink gardenia, and especially the cover layer and the tilted frame! So pretty!
