Karen is our hostess in the Color Challenge this week, and she has asked us to make a card using Blushing Bride, Mint Macaron, and Very Vanilla. Adieu Mint Macaron, you have been such a lovely color! I'm happy to be using you one last time in the Color Challenge, and to be able to use a bit of my hoarded lace!
[ETA: Hooray! Karen just reminded me that Mint Macaron is staying in the Color Challenges and in SU's palette!]
The dessert option this week is Vintage. That's not a style I usually embrace, but I have to say it was fun making this card. I decided this lovely new rose set from Stampin' Up! would be perfect for the dessert theme. After stamping with Blushing Bride, I masked the blossom and then stamped the leaves. Then I highlighted some of the shading produced by the stamp with my Zig markers.
I distressed the edges of the Vanilla panel, sponged with Crumb Cake ink, and did some random vintage-style stamping on this panel and the card base. Tied the lace and popped up the focal panel. Added a few gems as a finishing touch.
Thanks for stopping by, and please play along with us this week!
