The card base is a standard A2 size (8-1/2"x 4-1/4" folded in half) in Stampin' Up! retired Dapper Denim cardstock.
The main panel is a piece of scrap cardstock measuring 5-1/4"x 4", covered horizontally with three pieces of 1-7/8" wide foil furnace tape (from Lowes) with a snug fit between the three pieces. I then trimmed all three pieces o tape so they extended just beyond the scrap cardstock so I could wrap them around the edge and stick to the back of the panel. Don't worry if you have some wrinkles in the foil, they will disappear when you run them through your Big Shot with an embossing folder. I chose SU "Lattice" for this project, but any pattern that looks like it's associated with tools will do.
I taped the embossed foil panel onto the card base using SU's extra strong adhesive Tear & Tape since foil is notorious for not sticking with traditional glues used for papercrafting.
Next, I choose a 4-5/8"x 2-3/4" panel of SU Hello Honey cardstock for my off-kilter element required by the sketch. On this I stamped the retired 1992 "Great Greetings" birthday sentiment using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Because thick sentiments don't always stamp solid the first time, I used my MISTI, and stamped it three times!
The next step was to create my tools. Using the retired SU "Build It" framelits dies, I cut both a Silver Foil and Dapper Denim pliers and screwdriver. I cut the tips of the blue tools off and glued them to the silver tools using Tombow glue. I also used a hole punch to punch out "screw heads" from the foil scraps which I added the Phillips cross pattern using the back of my Xacto knive. The screw heads were glued on top of the letter "i" and at the bottom of the exclamation point in the sentiment. The tools were then glued to the panel in positions that made them appear as if they were ready to be used on the two faux screw heads.
Finally, I wrapped a piece of Offray 1/4" blue ribbon around the end of the yellow panel, and tied a simple overhand knot.
The finished yellow panel was adhered to the embossed foil panel using adhesive foam strips liberally.
This was a fairly straightforward and fun card to make. So I am rating it at a difficulty rating of "2" out of "5".
NOTE: I chose blue and yellow for my card because there are at least 3 lines of blue-handled tools (Channel-Lock, Blue-Point, and Euro Tools), and of course the yellow is typical of Stanley Tools.
