This challenge was serendipitous. On Thursday I had just made a bunch of rolling marble as well as shaving cream backgrounds showing one of my customers some fun things to do with her grandchildren and stamping for the summer. This was on my mind because I had just pulled this out of my stash to congratulate a friend on her engagement--the proposal was at the beach.
When I make a unique background like this, I don't like to cover it up with a lot of other stuff. I try to choose a design and stamps that complement rather than compete with the background.
For this card, the shaving cream looked like a sunset at the beach, so I let it be what it wanted to be.
Notice that it has been featured in the TLC twice. That's because it's just fun--everybody, whatever their ages always enjoy doing this one. Everyone gets a surprise in the end because it's really hard to control or predict the results. For example, that pink splotch--there wasn't any pink in my ink selection. It must have been left from a previous person's ink choices, but it works for a sunset.

This is so cool! Isn't it fun when the background dictates the card! I think these kinds of techniques are like playing with magic! I agree, this was meant to be and I am so glad you didn't cover up the background!
