This may be the very first, or the 2nd piece I ever water colored the Art Impressions way, and I immediately hated it because I used too much water.
This piece has been in the trash bin several times and pulled out and tossed in my bone pile to sit for years. However, this week's Teapot Party seemed like the perfect time to use this piece. This card is going to a very dear lady who is battling some serious health issues so hopefully it cheers her up a bit. I could not fix the mistake of using too much water on this project, so I used my other trick of drawing the eye away from it by placing a frame around the image and using a punched border with burlap ribbon. I am also entering this card into this week's alphabet challenge for the letter P which is the pink I used. In the end, I am glad I kept this piece because I actually like the end result. Who knew? Thanks for looking! ~Karen.

I see nothing wrong with your card. I love the colors and layout. It is very easy to use too much water, I learned that from experience. If you have that trouble again, before tossing it try inking up the flowers and foliage again, stamp off once on scrap paper and then over your image. It may work to help distinguish them a little more. Just a suggestion, but I think your card is A okay!

Oh, Karen, your subdued flowers are ever so Pretty! Sometimes it just takes using the right framing to make the image look Perfect, just like this lovely flower basket bursting with color! I adore the polka dots and stripes, and your burlap ribbon with the punched design underneath look great together and add fun to this wonderful card~ Hugs

Oh, I love your idea of the dotted and striped paper. So many fun details on this. I can't tell you used too much water and I bet the dear lady receiving this will be thrilled.

Excellent layout to frame your piece. It looks dreamy. I agree with Nan Cee that stamping again over the water color wash would add more definition. I experienced the same issue on the AI that I did the first time. Keep trying-this one turned out lovely the way that you presented it.

I saw the AI stamps right away. I love their stamps that you can build with. I like the end result as well. the flowers have an impressionism feel! The stripes and dots in the papers really look nice with the flowers as well! Sure glad you saved it!

I think this is lovely. I like the watercolor image and the stripes and dots were a brilliant idea. I love that you rescued this beauty and that it is going to someone who needs a boost.

It's lovely Karen and so "in" right now. People work hard to achieve this muted look so you were actually ahead of the game. Thanks for playing with us this week!
