I made this card for this week's Alphabet Challenge for the letter O. The O in my card is for Orange. We had a very large orange cat for 17.5 years and he was such a love. Could that boy ever tear up the house playing with my yarn so I made this card in memory of our dear Julio. The way this kitty die cuts gives you positive and negative pieces so I was able to make 2 cats then. I sprinkled color burst powders over a piece of watercolor paper and sprayed it generously with water, then set it aside. Once dry, I sprayed Elmer's spray adhesive over this water colored piece and immediately poured glitter over it and set it aside to dry for a bit. Once Dry, I die cut a kitty image. Then I die cut another kitty image from orange polka dot dsp. I took the positive pieces form the watercolor paper and added them to the orange dsp and vice versa so one cat die is mostly sparkly with orange polka dot inserts and the other one is this one. Fun! I used a flower image from the water color mini's set to add leaves to the tree in this stamped image. I sponged color onto the ground and sky and used copic markers to color the birds. This card was a lot of fun to make and I enjoyed the happy memories I have of my big orange boy. Thanks for looking today. ~Karen.

Ha, I'm just surprised he's not out there chasing the birds off the lawn! We had several gingers over the years - interestingly now that I think about it, at least three out of the four were rescues. Two were quite small dainty builds, but Moses was more like your Julio sounds to have been. What a fabulous die - but what a lot of work piecing all those little bits back in again. I love the detail you put in your write-ups - thank you!

This is such a fun kitty cat image, Karen, but I'm thinking he'd rather be outside chasing after those birds! Love the chair rail molding and fun papers~

Brings a big smile to my face. I love the way you got his paws in the middle of the yarn, and the extra care you took on his body. He is beautiful. Lovely card.

Wow, your attention to detail, down to the chair railing is so interesting. I have always thought I wanted an orange cat, but so far have never had one! Your orange polka dotted Julio is having fun with that ball of yarn. What an interesting springtime scene you have created, here Karen. Thanks for all your info on how this card came about!

This card is priceless as is the story of Julio! My girlfriend and I shared a cat. When he died, we were in San Francisco. I cried when I heard as we loved when he came to our house. Pets are truly a family member. Your card is great.

Karen, this is such a fabulous, detail filled card. I love your wallpaper look and the embossing on the floor portion is such fun. Your kitty die cut is wonderful and detailed too. I like the colorburst effect on your kitty and your scored baseboard is fun. Marvelous card.
