This confirms that I am not comfortable with less predictable techniques. I made two pieces, spent ages on the first one and will try to turn it into something tomorrow. I also have ink everywhere, even though I thought I used the lightest possible touch on the can, color spattered all over the page, and my desk. I had to wipe a lot of red spatter off the top part of the piece of Yupo, but of course red is one of the stainiest colours, so I used snowcap mixative to try to bring back some white, along with a blue ink.
So busy concentrating on the technique that I forgot about the mixed media aspect, but some Stickles, white gel pen and gilding flakes should get me off the hook. These are meant to be poppies.

Not such a mess (on the card) as I pegged these as poppies even before I read your description. You must have had a brand new can of super-charged air if it sent spatters all over your worktop . . . my can was almost empty so I only got gentle pffft's from it - in fact, I didn't get as much "feathering" as I anticipated because of that. (Also the angle of the straw makes a difference in how the ink spreads, too.)

I can totally see your carefree poppies Sabrina! Beautiful mix of colors, so fresh and springlike! The black alcohol ink works well for definition. I’ll have to add that to my list. Beautiful card!

I love it. I am kind of like you and feel more comfortable with more predictable mediums. I have a friend who is like us and she actually said one time that "she was planning on being spontaneous". Is that an oxymoron or what? Anyway, your card is wonderful albeit if it's outside your comfort zone.

Beautiful, inky art! Sabrina, I understand the expectation you had, but this came out wonderful to my eyes. I most definitely see those gorgeous poppies among the greenery and beautiful blue sky. And, I think your one word sentiment is just perfect for this beauty.

Well, I do see very impressionistic poppies in this. I do like it even though it blew away lots of the shapes. Those cans really can spread ink around. Fun though wasn't it.

This is really pretty - you need to stop selling yourself short! I have paint everywhere, too. LOL But that's just evidence of fun! Thanks for playing!
