This card was inspired by the Technique Lovers Challenge, TLC691 - Dying for Words - 5/21/18. The challenge was to use a die cut word or sentiment as the main focus and the largest element of the project.
I needed a quick and simple thank you card to put with a small gift for my neighbor. I spotted this blocky thank you diecut in my cut-but-never-used pile, and the woodgrain card stock inspired me to dig through my sticker drawer for something woodsy to go with it. I found an old package of K & Co. 3-D bird and flower stickers and this little bird fit perfectly in the open space in the diecut. I couldn't believe it! I decided the birdie needed to be looking at something, so I added the flower with the sweet ladybug...which made the whole design off balance. To fix this, I added a curved leaf die cut. And in final moment of frustration and desperation, I cut the corners off the top of the card and made it into a top folding tag card. Let me tell you, I almost got sick to my stomach when I made the first corner cut, and realized I could wreck the whole card if I messed up the second corner cut!!! Thank goodness that didn't happen. Ha....
My neighbor loved the card when I delivered it last night. Whew! Mission accomplished!
Thanks for flying by and looking in on my Boxed Up Birdie Thanks.

Turning it into a tag-top card was a stroke of genius! What a fun card, love that die-cut!
