Kelly came up with a GREAT theme for the Ready Set Go challenge this month. Ready Set Go is an extreme challenge among three friends - Kelly (MiamiKel4), Barb (barbaralynn) and myself).
We were to use at least two of the sayings from the "Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue" statement that goes along with weddings... but our cards did not need to be wedding cards.
I used all four...
OLD - I found an OLD scrap of designer paper in my file that I have had so long I don't even remember having it. I'm sure I used it on another project at some point, or the scrap wouldn't be there. But, it has to have been a l-o-n-g time ago. Another OLD thing about this card is more about my special style. I almost always mat my layers on my card with black (or some dark) CS, but when I first started card-making I didn't do that. I also didn't do it on this card.
NEW - I used my very newest stamp on this card. In fact, it is so new that it arrived in the mail just one day before I stamped it to use on this card.
BORROWED - okay this one is definitely a stretch... I guess it's technically not BORROWED, because it was given to me, but the Close to Cocoa CS was given to me by a local friend who years ago supported Stampin' UP! but has since then quit making cards. She recently gave me her inks, papers, and some other fun goodies.
BLUE - this one's pretty obvious. I used Bordering BLUE CS on my card and part of my image was colored with BLUE Copic markers.
