I am a week behind with this card but was determined to make it. the card is for two challenges;
MMTPT511 - The Teapot Challenge to make a Shabby Chick card for one of our members who has just lost her mother. I really know how this feels as we have just lost our mum in March and this was the first year I had no one to give a mothers day card to so really wanted to do this card...but Shabby Chick - "What The" ...not good with shabby chick so had to think about it, then during the week spotted a card in our Featured Stamper Jennifer aka picard76's gallery found here;
FS588 Celebrate Love by picard76 at Splitcoaststampers, gorgeous card, I love the soft feel to it. Congratulations Jennifer.
This took about four hours to make and despite not being very good at Shabby Chick and not even sure if this is shabby chick I loved every minute of it and hope our SCS member likes it too.
The background is the Wrinkle Free background using Blushing Bride, Soft Sky and Sahara Sand inks slapped onto some backing paper and spritzed with water then the card stock plonked onto it.
I then used my home made Bokeh stencil to add the Bokeh effect to the background.
I cut the window frame out then ran it through the sizzix using the embossing folder to give it a wood feel sponging it with Sahara Sand.
I sponged a paper doily with Soft Sky and then cut it to fit the frame gluing it to the base,
I then cut a number of different size pine branches out of vellum and glued these to the doily in the bottom left hand corner.
I coloured Tilda and attached her to the window frame then glued the frame to the base over the pine branches. I did the greeting and attached it then sponged the vines and attached them and finally attached the flowers coloured the butterfly with Soft Sky on the back and sprinkled it with Diamond glitter and attached it then very last put some clear Wink of Stella on Tilda's bow and lace on her sleeve and also did a border around the greeting.
Thanks for looking Hugs Marg

Marg this is the sweetest ever! I love the design of your Tilda looking longingly out the window. The bg is so amazing and I love the embossed window frame. Karen will appreciate this I'm sure.
I'm so sorry to hear about your mum. Sending hugs to you....

Gorgeous, Marg. I love your Tilda and all the millions of great details you added to this. Fab bg especially. I think it works for Shabby Chic and it is a wonderful card to send to someone who has lost a Mum. hugz

This is so darling Marg! My goodness, this little cutie looking out the window just tugs at one's heartstrings. Your bokeh bg is really gorgeous and sets the perfect stage for your fabulous shabby chic window scene. I am truly touched that you made a card for me when you just lost your own dear mother. I am so sorry to hear this too. You really made a stunning shabby chic card that is a real treasure and will be treasured too. Thank you so very much Marg! ~Karen.

I'm sorry I missed this till now, glad that the favourites thread alerted me to it. I'd say you do shabby chic very well, Marg. Certainly for me some of those "help, how do I ever do this" challenges start to seem a bit more doable after allowing time for ideas to incubate. I know Karen will love this.
