This was a fun technique to do. I have tried my hand at weaving before but I was doing it as a separate piece from the background and I could never get it to "stay together" till it was woven.
This time, after reading instructions by Desaree Diedrich O'Hara, the light bulb went on!!!
The slits were cut right into the bg paper.... first I picked two tree images from the heritage cartridge (Cricut) and welded them together to get one tree with a thick longer trunk and tall canopy. I cut and used as a stencil to outline my tree on the bg paper. After cutting the slits I wove papers into a basic tree shape then darken the outline again using the tree as a stencil.
