Wow, neat challenge and another card out of the box for me as not do this type ans has so many things done to it---LOL Have white card base that I had laid down different colors at one time and said use this, then did different stencils on it, a word stamp distress stamps etc. put this on card base then did the like take I shaped, punching hole in center of small circle die and putt ribbon in it and glued down onto tag. Had the image on white card stock, sponged over it with 3 inks, splashed water on it, dried then used balled up saran wrap to pop down some gesso here and there, colored in some flowers with white chalk pen, stamped hell in versa mar and white eb powder and heat set, stamped, colored and fussy cut and popped on--used few glue dots on top of tag to pop on---background on base turned out pretty for first time and LOL---hated to cover it up but is as is can lift bottom of tag to see it---tfl

DonnaJeanne, what a really beautiful wildflower meadow you created. I love the flowers, and of course the bird. Your background is really lovely too. I know what you mean about not wanting to cover it up...I often go with a simple die-cut on backgrounds I want to keep as much as possible. But in this case in glad you added the gorgeous tag.

WOW it may be out of your comfort zone but what a cool card! I like that you're using some mixed media techniques on this...I love the touches of gesso here and there and that you used stencils on your fab background. The little birdie and the wildflower scene on the tag is so sweet. You really went all out on this DonnaJeanne.....I bet you had fun, too ;)

Wow Donna this is just amazing. I am super impressed this is an out-of-the box technique for you because I would have assumed you were a pro at this. I adore the colors you used here with all the delicate stamping and stenciling for added depth of color and interest. I sure would have hated to cover up this gorgeous bg too, but this tag is a real show stopped my friend. It really is and it looks great where you placed it. This wonderful bird and your lovely bow tied this wonderful card up beautifully! ~Karen.

Absolutely beautiful card! And yes, that is the thing about vintage & shabby chic & mixed media--sometimes much of the lovely artwork gets covered up with another layer or two!

From the look of this card, I'd say you are a pro at mixed media! This is absolute FABULOUS! Your bg is stunning, and it is so great it does show beneath that lovely tag, which is a stunner! Your bg for your tag is equally impressive and your meadow flowers a lovely addition with that fussy-cut bird and lovely bow finishing it off perfectly!

You might not do the style but your card is perfect Shabby Chic! The layers are terrific and the colors are just so amazing on your layers. Really terrific card for an out of your style. It is so fun to try something that is not our style and have it turn out so eye catching. Thank you for joining in the tea party and bringing this amazing beauty for us to see.
