I was inspired by cards made by Design Team members Debbie, Sue, JoAnne, and Colleen who all had great ideas that I combined to create my card.
The star was created using all three star stamps from the Stampin' Up "Bright & Beautiful" stamp set. Each star was stamped with Versamark ink onto a different shade of foil cardstock (blue, teal, and gold). Then sprinkled with detailed silver embossing powder and heat set. In order to create a more "glistening" star, I hand-cut each of the three stars out (instead of using their matching dies). This allowed me to create more rounded borders.
The stars were adhered to one another in a stack fashion using adhesive foam strips. I then attached rhinestones to each star tip.
The card base is Night of Navy with a 5-1/2" square of Silver Glimmer Paper as the mat. The foil main panel was run through my Big Shot with a Fiskars texture plate topped with a rubber mat to give good impressions in the foil. It was attached to the Glimmer Paper using Tear n' Tape (glitter paper is notoriously hard to get things to stick to).
The assembled star was attached to the blue foil using adhesive foam strips.
The sentiment was cut using Tim Holtz Sizzix dies from the "Seasons Greetings" thinlits set. To raise them above the card surface for added interest, I cut two sets of words from Night of Navy cardstock in addition to the gold foil set. These were stacked and glued together before gluing down on the blue foil.
The card came together pretty well after I had my inspirations, but because of all the assembly steps, I am going to rate it a difficulty level of "4" out of "5". I like how it turned out and look forward to sending it to someone special this coming Christmas!
Thanks again for the inspiration, Merry Monday!

Thank you, Elizabeth, for your kind comments on my Christmas card. What I do around the middle of the year is play along with two different weekly Christmas card challenges to give me inspiration and accumulate the cards I need for the upcoming holiday season. One challenge is "Merry Monday", the other is "52 Christmas Card Throwdown".

Boy, I sat here and read your steps, then reread them. So much work went into these cards! Thank you for all the explanations! Really helps to see how you made the metallic look pop!
