A friend of mine asked if I could make a card for her niece who is graduating from the culinary program at Johnson & Wales. I said yes, because I've been wanting to try the bench fold card, to make a little kitchen. Plus, The Hungry JPEG has a bundle deal going on right now that has a bunch of SVG files for $8. There were kitchen silhouettes in the bunch, so I had to grab it. I cut out the pan, rolling pin, and utensils all from the SVG files. I also cut out two windows (one for the oven and one for the window). I used the window panes as drawers on the left side of the card.
I don't have a good brick embossing folder, so I just scored some subway tiles on the big white paper. I used a light blue for the bottom of the card because I drew my inspiration from this kitchen on the Grandinroad site. I printed out the Bugaboo digi chef with "Congrats" across him, and made a little picture frame with Enamel Accents. So I'm entering this in the Bugaboo Anything Goes Challenge.
The window and the oven use overhead transparency to give them the window look. I went with just white (an old sheet) for the curtains, because I thought that is what color the curtains would be in my inspiration photo, but now I wish I had used some color. Once I had all my utensils and pan colored and added them the to the card, then I finished it off with that cute towel sticker from Jolee's Boutique and silver liquid pearls for all cabinet and oven and stove knobs. It was really fun to make, but I agree I'll never make another one.

wow.
did I say wow?
There are so many great details in this-I love it all. I leaned in and looked at this carefully for awhile. Then I pinned it to my "just to look at" file-cards I think are amazing but would never attempt.
Clever-using the window panels for your drawers. That towel knocks me out. And the curtains, the wall tiles, the silver handles...sigh.
Definitely a keeper!
