With Jeanne's Keeping it Simple MIXed media challenge as the spur, I finally got my March quota of Christmas cards made. I did the sponging and spattering last night, and the stamping and embossing today.
Masked and sponged the main layer - DOX inks for the foreground (I can't remember what brown I used, vintage photo is on my desk, but it's not actually that dark, so whatever was on the sponge I used) and forest moss, and regular distress chipped sapphire and wilted violet for the sky. Spattered gold H2Os. Stamped and embossed the star and shepherd. Added gold edging and put on a white base with a pen border. I'd orginally been planning black - but I appear to be right out of black card.
Inside has the Taylored Expressions nativity border cut from grey paper, and the other half of the Star of Light sentiment stamped in black.

WOW gorgeous design! This looks like a CAS MIX but...I'm sure a lot of work went into it. I love the sky...it's lighter in just the right places and highlights the star and greeting perfectly. The splattering of gold H2Os is perfect!

This is so beautiful Sabrina. Thanks for all the details, I love the effect you achieved with the inks. I always love your gold borders and pen borders...this card is an extra treat with both borders!

Such a lovely holiday scene you created, Sabrina. That stary blue sky looks like it goes on forever. Beautiful colors and the gold splatters are fabulous.
