I needed another card today. Specifically a video game turned card for a twelve year old boy. Apparently he's very into Fortnite? I don't know anything about the game, but when I googled Fortnite Birthday, I got this graphic that I die cut onto a shield and sponged the edges. Then I went straight for this Mo Manning digi of a boy sitting in a chair playing video games and texting with his friends. For Lisa's patterned paper challenge, I paper pieced the chair with some Colorbok paper that I bought at Wal-Mart a couple years ago. As I was coloring, I realized that it would be fun to put Happy Birthday in Text bubble above his head to make it look like he just got that Happy Birthday text from his friend. So I stamped the sentiment and drew and colored the bubble and embossed with white. For Lisa's challenge, I really wanted to dig into my oldest paper from when I started scrapbooking fifteen years ago. It was nice to dig through my old paper as a reminder that ok I've got some really beautiful paper. I chose the one that had the closest colors to camp because apparently Fortnite is shoot em up war game. This card made me late to work but it was worth it.

I love the paper pieced chair. A perfect fabric pattern that looks great with the rest of this scene.

Great job paper piecing that chair and love the image you found to coordinate with the game you googled. I don't know anything about most of the games my DH and DS play but this image is fantastic for a teen boy. I might just need to get this for my son's next birthday card. Nicely one. Thank you so much for playing along in the challenge today.
