For hug an Australian day, I've chosen to case a card by our Australian friend, sue28. And I just noticed that the card I chose was for a WT challenge exactly 150 weeks ago. I liked this card for the faux denim pocket. I've never seen the faux denim technique and you know how I love a good faux technique. So I googled it and made a faux denim pocket. I really wanted to use the Pocket Fun frog, so I also googled Australian frogs and colored him up just like an Australian green tree frog. Then I popped him up in front a brown background that looks like bark and threw in some splatter with gold Wink of Stella to add some interest to the plain paper.

Cute little frog peeping out of this amazing denim pocket, your background looks really like bark or maybe cork...but cork is made from bark isn't it...

A super case of our sweet Sue's card and I love your faux denim pocket...a technique I've never tried.

Fun CASE of Sue's card, Jen! Well done on both the faux denim and coloring that cute little frog. Love how the glossy accents adds both shine and texture to the eyes. Thanks for playing in my challenge.

You chose to hug one sweet Aussie....your card is super neat. Always like that stamp, and it looks great adorning the brown like tree trunk. Great job. TFS

Great natural feel to the background. The bark bits remind me of the eucalyptus tree we had in the garden in my childhood home - the only tree my brother and I could never climb from the bottom up - only by getting into it higher up from another tree!
I think faux denim is pretty much the same as faux wood except with blues instead of browns, and yes, it's a fun technique except I never seem to have the right blue to start with for the base. What a beautiful card and lovely recognition of Sue. Quite funny that you did a birthday card in her honour as Saturday is her birthday .
