This card is for an S2S challenge where stamping is to be done on patterned paper.
I had this scrap of red patterned paper sitting in my stash and knew I wanted to do a vintage type card so immediately began tearing and distressing the edges. As the paper has vintage writing on it, I opted to stamp the image in versamark and use gold embossing powder.
The tag was cut using another piece of patterned paper from my stash and again stamped and gold embossed. I originally stamped the sentiment in black but it was lost on the paper, so again opted for the gold.
It was at this stage that I felt that the card was lacking something, so the rest of the white cardstock and part of the lace bg image was sponged with black ink and the edges embossed. It was at this stage that I noticed that the gold stickers I had popped on the panel were melting...ooops...note to self: emboss first LOL. Fortunately I have a whole sheet of these stickers!
I still feel the card is lacking something and did try to add ribbon but the only spot I could think of putting some on was the tag.
The challenge was fun.
TFL Happy day

Lovely. The embossing really does stand out, and the distressed edges are quite complementary. I have no idea what else I would add if anything. I think sometimes we just have to let it sit for a while and then come back to it. TFS!

Woo hoo! You really aced this challenge. You took it to whole new heights. I love the gold embodding on that rich red dp. I love the faux burnt edges too. So cool.
