When I host the Color Challenge, about every 6 weeks or so, I try to pick pretty colors and a dessert option that will be a bit challenging--especially for me! Well, this week I have outsmarted myself! I chose a one-layer card as the dessert option. I had no idea how difficult that would be for me! I made two cards this week, trying to do the challenge justice. I'm not sure I hit the mark on either of them, but they're growing on me . . . . Anyway, the colors this week are Sweet Sugarplum, Rich Razzleberry and Tranquil Tide. I stamped off one time to get the lighter green shade on the leaves.
When this stamp set first came out, it was at the top of my favorites list for quite a while. But sadly, newer shinier things have come my way, and this one hasn't seen ink for a long time. This week remedies that, with a card for a needlework friend who just had a hip replaced. I expected to see her at our meeting yesterday, but since she didn't make it to the meeting, she's going to get this card. She's one of those special people who always expresses appreciation for my hand-made cards!
I kept it really flat, really one layer, no embellishments. However, the CC police are on vacation this week, so if you have a few sequins or gems, etc., on your card, you can still have dessert!

Oh, Barbara, I would never have guessed you struggled with these colors! I love this stamp set and need to use mine as well. Yes, it's amazing how new things come and we push aside the "somewhat" older ones. But you've made this set shine beautifully, and I love your placement of your flowers and the sentiment inside! I know your friend will love it! Beautifully done, and thanks for the great colors! I love them and have enjoyed playing with you all! Hugs! xoxo

Barbara, those flowers are so pretty and the sentiment perfect for your needlework friend. No doubt she will appreciate your thoughtfulness and this lovely card! I give you kudos for truly making a one layer card!

Your card looks good enough to eat. It reminds me of a beautiful, yummy sheet cake. I might have to make a midnight run to Walmart for a slice of cake.

I love this stamp set but sadly I'm usually too lazy to actually use it. Your card is beautiful and good for you for stepping out of your comfort zone with the OLC. I didn't have it in me.
