This was my first attempt at trying the Black Ice Technique for Sabrina's challenge. I had seen this technique last week and wondered whether it would work on darker coloured foils.
As you can see, the effect isn't that great on the purple. I think the secret to this technique is to lightly run the black ink on the foil...I was a little heavy handed. Also be careful when touching the foil....I found it tricky even though I glued my foil down onto my craft mat, it still seemed to move and I ended up getting some finger marks on there.
I also ended up taking off some of the foil with my fingernails...not sure how that happened but managed to cut the panel down LOL, and there seems to be white spots on the foil which when I look at the card aren't there so am assuming it's the light.
Also, my sentiment can hardly be seen on the darker colour. I would definitely recommend using this technique with lighter foils.
It's a fun technique to try.
TFL Happy day

It's always worth experimenting, so well done for going for it! I would have liked to, but my darker ones were all holographic and I suspected had plastic that would melt when I tried embossing. So I'm glad you went for it, Jayne. I think this is so rich and dramatic looking. With how hard it is to photograph, I'm betting that at some angles the sentiment shows perfectly.
Wow yours came out better then mine Sis!!! Lol I still have to try this technique lol so glad you went for it so when I decided to I can run to you for tips hehe I agree the purple came out beautifully
