What a fun Mix Ability challenge today - MariLynn had us look at Pinterest for our inspiration giving us a method of searching - I searched on Mixed Media, Distress Inks, Blue, Green, Butterfly and found this beautiful butterfly creation!
My butterfly wasn't as big as the piece I found so I stamped the whole thing in the center of an old book page. I stamped it in black and clear embossed it.
I colored it with Ranger Distress Markers. Then I watercolored around the page with Ranger Distress Vintage Photo (rubbing it on my craft mat, then wetting a brush and mixing it into the ink on my mat.)
I splattered white acrylic paint over the panel and then added the stamped sentiment. I sponged the edges of the sentiment with Vintage Photo. I added 3 sequins, layered the panel to a black panel and then to my Rustic Cream card base.
I'll be using this technique to search on Pinterest again when I've lost my mojo! thanks for the great challenge today MariLynn!
ETA: forgot to add - I haven't used this stamp in over a year - so I guess I get double points!!

Wow Julia, this turned out awesome. I can so see how you were inspired. I actually like how yours looks even more than the inspiration. I love the butterfly that you used. Love the sparkle of your butterfly. I like the book page background. Thanks for playing along with my challenge. I hope you have a blessed rest of your day.
