I made this for Cathy's WTUI challenge which you will be able to find HERE, and to encourage myself during a somewhat stressful time just now.
I used the Layered Gesso Background tutorial. Base covered with gesso. When dry, I stamped with words from the SNSS His Wings Set, and also with some stamps from Timeless Texture.
When dry, I painted over that with a light aqua and buff titanium acrylic paint.
When dry I added a bit more gesso, and then rubbed in some luster rub-ons. Stencilled the sun rays with Nuvo mousse. Edged the whole thing with black acrylic paint.
Sentiment stamped on a scrap of old BG paper, distressed, and added with a brad. I cut the heron from a scrap of white card, swiped over it with white pigment ink and then sponged the edges with purple. He's standing on a patch of microbeads.
The foliage and turquoise flower were both cut from scraps of embossed watercoloured tissue paper. The little pink flowers were a left-over from another project, TH mini tattered florals. I added some cheesecloth under the sentiment, and finished it off with a few sequins scattered through the sun rays.
