Anybody who remember the last doodling challenge knows it terrifies me but I am trying to grow in my art so decided to try it one more time - plus I am not all that confident in adding random stencil images so double challenge for me.
I did a watercolor wash in shades of blue then added some streaks of yellow (it's an overcast day here and I needed some sunshine even if I made it myself) Once dry, I used a pencil to doodle in some cobblestones then colored with a bit of white prisma pencil to make them stand out just a bit from the "earth". It always amazes me to see a flower spring up and flourish in crack of a sidewalk so I stamped my flower between the cobblestones, first adding some watercolor and then doodling in the feathery lines in the petals & leaves with a pen. I also added a few highlights to the center with a white gel pen. The smaller windblown plant was first stenciled in with green & pink then the edges doodled with pen. I Sponged parts of the stencil around the edge then used a very sharp prisma pencil to add some open circles using the stencil as a guide.
I can't decide if I like this since it is NOT my normal style at all . . . . Also it feels maybe not quite done so any suggestions from the mixed medium / doodling pros would be greatly appreciated!!

Linda, it's not so long ago that the mention of doodling froze me in my tracks, but over the last three years or so I've found several ways of making it easier for myself - and for sure starting with a given outline helps me! That little windblown plant says it all - reminds me of some of the illustrations in The Little Prince. The thriving version is beautiful - and so are your cobblestones. See, I wouldn't even try doing those!! I think you did just great.

I think adding those cobblestones was a brilliant move. This is lovely. I know what you mean about flowers emerging from an unexpected place. It's the wonder of nature. My advise is to play around, do what comes naturally (like you did here with the stones)...Study other stampers who doodle...like Susie..I learn a lot from her designs. And have fun..don't stress out!

Linda, your mixed media card is terrific!! Love the bright color of your pink cardbase & portion of your sentiment with all your stenciling and doodling. It truly is amazing a seed can sprout just about anywhere unlikely and flourish. And to me, your card captures that miracle superbly!

IKWYM about doodling ... not too good at it myself, nor am I sure I like it. I love your flower coming up from between the stones. Cool idea. Such pretty colors too.

Linda your card is great and looks mixed media too, doodling, I even didn't know what it meant before seeing Susie's cards, I love it now and sometimes it really finishes a card, I loved to use a stencil for this and I'm sure you are going to like it after a bit of practice

This is so pretty, Linda! Love all the different elements in your bg. I always have to remind myself that it's just paper & I can start over. It's just that I hate starting over, lol.
