For Janelle's It's a Date MIXed media challenge. I'm remembering my first pet, a dearly beloved cat. You can read a little about her in an older blog post HERE. I got her when I was about four or five and she lived on till after I had left home, a sweet and gentle, and much loved friend.
I feel as if I cheated because I ended up using a gel print from either Polly or Stacy (I think Stacy, because it's on deli paper) - but only after I smudged the sentiment on a stencilled background of my own. And I did make this my own. First, I added it to a base which is an IO music stamp embossed on gold and then swiped over with vintage photo distress stain. It's been in my scrap box for ages, the brown and the music theme (due to my cat's name) were perfect.
Then I stamped the sentiment.
Then I stencilled the Nuvo Mousse. I wanted to add some letters, so I pulled out some very old foam stamps and stamped those with white acrylic paint, and added some spatters.
Most of you know I'm not really a user of digital stamps, but I have seen some adorable Gerda Steiner images, and decided this month to join her progressive monthly challenge because - well, cats and books are a pretty irresistible combination. I printed the image and coloured it with Polychromos pencils. Forgot to add Glossy Accents to the cactus pot, I'll do that now.
